For the Camry’s 37th birthday, Toyota has decided to go big. The carmaker recently introduced the 2021 Toyota Camry, offering more ground-breaking safety features and more variants than ever before.

The 2021 Camry will be the first vehicle in the Toyota lineup to offer the all-new Toyota Safety Sense® 2.5+ package. This suite of driver-assistance features uses enhanced technologies to improve its offerings, including the addition of intersection support for the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. More Canadians Seek Simple Summer Plans

2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid | Salmon Arm, BC

With lockdown slowly easing throughout the country, many Canadians are looking for new ways to explore this summer. According to a recent national survey, 74 percent of Canadians have changed their summer travel plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic — with many people turning towards road trips for adventure.

In the survey, only 24 percent of Canadians said that they would feel comfortable getting on a plane, but 70 percent still feel comfortable travelling by car to destinations beyond their own town. Because of this, many are packing up and hitting the road — but they aren’t going very far. Of those Canadians planning to hit the road this summer, the majority will be staying within 100 km of home — heavily favouring day trips over lengthy road trips.

While this may not be the summer we had all envisioned, we’re excited to see Canadians getting back behind the wheel, slowing life down, and exploring more of the incredible beauty Canada has to offer.”

If you’re considering adding a road trip to your future travel plans, then it’s likely you need a vehicle that is both efficient and versatile — even if you’re just taking a day trip. The Toyota lineup is filled with multiple options to consider, including the Highlander Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, and Prius. Test-drive each of these models here at Hilltop Toyota in Salmon Arm, BC.

How Toyota Canadian Factory Kept Employees Safe During Reopening

As the country begins to open back up after months of lockdown, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) is taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its 8,500 employees working across assembly plants in Cambridge and Woodstock.

“We spend a lot of time re-assessing our facilities and processes, and we’ve implemented many new policies and procedures so physical distancing can be maintained as much as possible,” said Frank Voss, President, TMMC. “In any places where physical distancing can’t be accomplished, we’ve installed physical barriers and required the use of additional personal protective equipment.”

To encourage physical distancing, Toyota installed spaced entryways and changed the interior setup of its facilities. The company has also been conducting comprehensive health surveys and use thermal cameras to check the temperature of employees. Also, if any employee shows symptoms of COVID-19, they are encouraged to stay home.

TMMC employees are also supplied with face masks during work, and the company has also made sure that gloves and hand sanitizer is available. Even the cleaning processes for restrooms, break rooms, and other high-traffic areas has been changed.

TMMC is considered one of the largest employers in southwestern Ontario, and plans to keep this protocols in place indefinitely, working with the federal, provincial, and municipal public health authorities to determine the best course of action throughout the process.

After months of lockdown, Salmon Arm is starting to open back up. As businesses and government buildings start to open across the town, make sure you are remaining vigilant and staying healthy. Follow these tips to stay safe and be cautious as Salmon Arm begins to reopen.

Remember to social distance. Wherever you go, make sure you remain six feet apart from others. This distance will help reduce the spread of germs from person to person.

Wear a mask and frequently wash your hands. A mask can help you prevent spreading germs that you’re carrying to others. That’s why it’s still vital you wear one as you walk around Salmon Arm. Also, wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds or regularly use hand sanitizer.

Disinfect everything. If you’re going about Salmon Arm, many of our businesses are taking the necessary measures to sterilize frequently touched surfaces. That being said, you should still wipe down things you touch with disinfectant wipes.

Stay home if you can. While the lockdown is relaxing, it doesn’t mean that the pandemic is over. Because of this, make sure that you’re staying home unless you absolutely have to. This will reduce the likelihood of cases increasing, and a good way to reduce your likelihood of contracting the virus.
